I am from Mexico and i find it a little difficult to understand how people from Spain speak spanish. To me it sounds like they don't pronounce words quite well. Every country that speaks spanish has its own words to say the same things. When I go to Guatemala which is ten minutes by car from my town. A lot of things have different words there like GLOBO they say VEJIGA (ballon) or POPOTE they say PAJILLA (straw) even PALOMITAS is different they say POPOROPO (popcorn). But the difference is that I understand very well how people talk in all this countries from Mexico to Argentina is very easy to me to understand the way they talk. But only when i hear spanish from spain i don't understand all they say. In my country Mexico, it is very common that a tv program has a lot of people from many other countries that speak spanish and even ´people from brazil (speaking in spanish of course) and we also have people from spain but they have to learn to talk like we do. They have to get rid of their accent so that we can understand or talk more slowly. I suppose it is the same for them.
