cancel on, flick out on My girl cancelled on me. My girl flicked out on me. To flick out on someone implies your upset, anger and unhappiness, while to cancel on someone does not show such emotion as strong as "to flick out on someone" does, eh?

It is not to "flick", it is to "flake". "My girlfriend canceled on me." is the formal way of saying: "My girl flaked on me."
