Hi The correct sentence should be "thanks to my South African friend, I travelled to South Africa'. This means you went to South Africa from a different country. If you want to say you went to different places within South Africa, then you need to say 'thanks to my South African friend, I travelled around South Africa'. Ellie.

You can say you travelled TO South Africa, travelled AROUND South Africa, travelled IN South Africa, it all depends on the context you mean. 'to South Africa' seems the most likely choice.

Thanks to my South African friend, I travelled South Africa. This is PERFECTLY correct. I have travelled the world, and the railways of India, it is wonderful to have friends in interesting places. Take care: it is 'thanks' not 'thankd', also there is always a space between South and Africa, and the A and S are always capital letters!

'is it gramatically right?' isn't quite right. In this context it is better to use 'this' as you are referring to something we're about to read. Also we tend to say 'grammatically correct'. So it would have been better to say 'is this grammatically correct?'. (Of course we understood you)
