The meaning of I knew he had done it, but there was no way I could prove it to Eddie. Here's a sentence from a dictionary. - I knew he had done it, but there was no way I could prove it to Eddie. Is 'he' that appears in the first part 'Eddie'? Or is the speaker talking about two people, i.e. 'he' and 'Eddie'?
