Sub a ficus Hi there, Can anyone tell me what it means to sub a ficus? I heard it in a context about houseplants, thanks for your help :)

Hi, "Ficus" is the latin name for a fig plant. Sometimes people grow these indoors. I'm not sure of the context but it could mean "substitute a ficus" - so they are saying that you could use a fig plant instead of some other plant. Does that make sense with what you are reading?
