The sun it changed in the atmosphere The sun it changed in the atmosphere(came from the song "shotgun"). I've never seen such syntax structure(noun + it + verb -ed). What would that sentence mean? And can you write down some more sentences with similar syntax, please.

In song lyrics you will find many sentences that don't seem to be grammatically correct. This is the same in poetry. "The sun, it changed in the atmosphere." With a comma we can better understand what the speaker means. The speaker is talking about the changes of the sun... He could be talking about time. I'm not sure what song this comes from, but I love to analyze song lyrics: If I knew the full song I could be of better help. Just remember that in art, such as song lyrics or poetry, meaning is open for interpretation and proper grammar is not important. Example: "Your smile, it lights up your face." "My tears, they fell to the floor."

"The mouse it ran across the road" "The ice cream it melted in the sun" "The plane it dropped out of the sky" It is a very common structure or syntax. maybe the verb + ed is more used in things like quotations, song lyrics etc. also many verb +ed verbs in English do not relay on being "eded" but by having a different spelling to indicate the action if action is what is being described. Run = to run . Ran = the verb+ed version and the correct way to say somebody ran across the road. the sentence means "the sun changed" somehow, we do not know how because the writer has not told us. And it changed in the atmosphere or sky ? again we do not know because the writer has not told us.

I would expect to see a comma before "it," as in Alexandra's example. Song lyrics, written out, often fail to use "proper" punctuation, though, because the singer's rhythm and pauses follow the music, not the written words. Here's an example, from a poem I like by A. E. Housman. The voice speaking in the poem tells about getting drunk and lying down to sleep in the street, happy. See the third line below: Then I saw the morning sky: Heigho, the tale was all a lie; The world, it was the old world yet, I was I, my things were wet, And nothing now remained to do But begin the game anew.

the song is obviously about a person who likes to travel a lot moving from place to place. So the sun will change constantly in the sky as he sees it from different places. Homegrown alligator, see you later Gotta hit the road, gotta hit the road The sun it changed in the atmosphere Architecture unfamiliar I can get used to this Time flies by in the yellow and green Stick around and you'll see what I mean There's a mountaintop that I'm dreaming of If you need me you know were I'll be I'll be riding shotgun underneath the hot sun Feeling like a someone I'll be riding shotgun underneath the hot sun Feeling like a someone The south of the equator, navigate it Gotta hit the road, gotta hit the road Deep-sea diving 'round the clock, bikini bottoms, lager tops I could get used to this Time flies by in the yellow and green Stick around and you'll see what I mean There's a mountaintop that I'm dreaming of If you need me you know were I'll be I'll be riding shotgun underneath the hot sun Feeling like a someone I'll be riding shotgun underneath the hot sun Feeling like a someone We got two in the front Two in the back Sailing along And we don't look back Time flies by in the yellow and green Stick around and you'll see what I mean There's a mountaintop that I'm dreaming of If you need me you know were I'll be I'll be riding shotgun underneath the hot sun Feeling like a someone I'll be riding shotgun underneath the hot sun Feeling like a someone I'll be riding shotgun underneath the hot sun Feeling like a someone I'll be riding shotgun underneath the hot sun Feeling like a someone, a someone, a someone, someone
