Meaning I got,
To find information about someone, especially to find out if they are suitable for something. Doesn't seem fit here.

"Check out" has several meanings. In this case, it's probably about an attraction to someone.
Hey, he is checking you out! (means, he thinks you are cute and he is looking at you deciding if he wants to get to know you.

It depends on how it's used. Here are the uses of 'check a person out' that I hear most:
a/ I think he likes my sister! He's checking her out. = looking at someone to decide how attractive you think they are!
b/ "I got an A+!" "Check you out!" = look how well you've done!
