How to start a formal e-mail in Japanese?
Or, more exactly, how do I start a formal e-mail in Japanese if I don’t know the name of the recipient? For example, I’m writing to a hotel to ask about the availability of a specific room. What greeting or set phrase should I use to start?

You often start with a phrase such as " (◯○) ご担当者様", which is a polite way of calling "person in charge (of ◯○)".
