Is this ok? ‘Is this your dad?’ ‘Yes, it is.’ Or should I say ‘Yes, he is.’? Thanks

"Yes, it is" is the correct answer to that question. You could also say "Yes, that's him".

Better to say “ Yes, it is “ because the question asks is THIS your Dad ?” So “it” is used in the answer. If the question had been “ is HE your Dad?” You’d say “ yes, he is my dad.
