Their according to Hi I'm confused by using 'their' in this context! Would you explain the meaning of ''their'' in this sentence? The book begins by examining the stereotypes that the media ascribes to female candidates, and asserts that, as well as portraying women as incompetent leaders, reporters also tend to describe them THEIR according to their fashion choices. Thank you

Hello Farhad, I think you have copied this sentence incorrectly. It should be... The book begins by examining the stereotypes that the media ascribes to female candidates, and asserts that, as well as portraying women as incompetent leaders, reporters also tend to describe them according to their fashion choices. Does it make sense to you now?

Or it could be "reporters also tend to describe them THEIR fashion choices" It looks like a copying error. " reporters also tend to describe THEIR fashion choices". " reporters also tend to describe them fashion choices". These are OK but "them their according" is wrong Them and their being what is being discussed.
