collaborative element
Hi
I'm confused by the meaning of ''collaborative element'' in this sentence! would you explain this phrase and give me a synonym for it?
Thank you
The first section of the book covers new modes of assessment. In Chapter 1, Kimbell (Goldsmith College, London) responds to criticisms of design programs as formalistic and conventional, stating that a focus on risk-taking rather than hard work in design innovation is equally problematic. His research contains three parts that include preliminary exploration of design innovation qualities, investigation of resulting classroom practices, and development of evidence-based assessment. The assessment he describes is presented in the form of a structured worksheet, which includes a collaborative element and digital photographs, in story format.

If you 'collaborate' with someone you don't work alone. You work with someone, or have the help of at least one other person.
If the worksheet includes 'a collaborative element', that means the worksheet includes a part where the author had help. At least one other person 'collaborated' or worked with the author on part (an element) of the worksheet.
