Korean Grammar Question: -거나 하다
So I saw this sentence: "맨 뒤 보다는 아에 맨 앞에 앉거나 하는 편이에요" and I wanted to know why it's phrased this way. From my understanding -거나 means "or" and is usually followed by an adjective or a verb but in this sentence it's being used differently.
Also what would be the difference between the sentence above and this sentence:
"맨 뒤 보다는 아에 맨 앞에 앉아 있는 편이에요."

A/V+거나 하다 with no other A/V+거나 is used when the action is a typical example and there is no need to mention another example.
맨 뒤 보다는 아예 맨 앞에 앉거나 하는 편이에요.(It has a nuance that there is possibility of doing another action)
I tend to sit at the foremost seat rather than the very last seat.(or...)
맨 뒤 보다는 아예 맨 앞에 앉아 있는 편이에요.
I mostly tend to sit at the foremost seat rather than the very last seat.
Other examples:
도움이 필요하거나 하면 그 친구한테 전화를 합니다.
너는 시험을 못 보았거나 하면 나한테 신경질을 부리더라.
