Hi Nancy!
A "qualification" is a quality, skill, or experience that makes someone prepared or able to do a certain job.
Examples:
-The three qualifications for a foreigner to work at Google are English language proficiency, a visa, and ten years of computer programming experience.
-There is only one qualification to be my friend: you must be loyal.
- That college is very selective, and students must meet many qualifications to be accepted.
"Certification" and "certificate" are almost the same word. They both refer to an official document that records some type of accomplishment. Do you know what a degree is (for example, a college degree in engineering)? Certificates are similar to degrees, but a degree has to come from a school, while a certificate can come from anywhere (a school, a business, or some other organization). You can go to beauty school to get a certificate in cutting hair, or you can go to a language center and get a certificate in English proficiency. Normally a certificate says that you have completed some type of learning or training. Usually "certificate" refers to a physical document, while "certification" refers to the concept of the accomplishment.
Examples:
-I have a certification in nursing. I had to send my certificate to the hospital before they would hire me.
-You need to have a certification to trade stocks for other people on the market. I keep my certificate on the wall in my office.
"Proof" is evidence that something is true.
Examples:
-The picture of me standing on the Great Wall of China is proof that I have visited Asia.
-My new muscles are proof that I have been exercising daily.
-Her fingerprints on the weapon were proof that she had committed the murder.
Now let's put them all together! A certificate can serve as proof that you have the necessary qualifications.
Examples:
-I want to work at the hospital, so I need proof that I have all the necessary qualifications. I will need to send them an email with my certificate.
