Is fontana a word in Spanish?
Fountain is fuente in Spanish, but is fontana a Spanish word. There is a city in California named Fontana. What does that mean. Google Translate no answer.

Fontana is Spanish for fountain, but fuente is much more common, at least in South America. Fontana may be used in Spain? But that is just a guess.

Hi Earl,
“Fontana” means water spring. It could be a natural water fall wich emanates from the rocks or an artificial construction made with stones or bricks and pipes, from where water springs up.
I think it’s a good example of a DIY “fontana”
