could you explain me about the above sentence ?

"I did not know no pain" is incorrect sentence because of double negative. Your version "i did not know pain" is correct))) Also "i knew no pain" is possible (Verb "know" is irregular). So, you understood correctly, but the sentence mixed up your thoughts :)

It's mean that you didn't know any kind of pain or anyway of pain.
It's get emphasis on the phrase about don't know pain.
