Hello Katya, I don't know what this guy means by " live one more life" ?! OK when you learn new languages you communicate with different kind of cultures and backgrounds, but what does this have to do with living one more life ? I don't get his connotation! ;)

why do people learn foreign languages? >> To communicate. And when you know a foreign language you can talk a foreign person. And a foreign person means that a foreign life etc.. I agree with that man too (. annotation: we say "Bir dil bir insan"' in Turkish. (; It's the same meaning.

Hi Katya, I agree because when you learn a language you immerse yourself in another culture.

I speak and learn to speak seven languages, does it mean I got six more new lives? If you move to another coutry, you have to give up what you have and start it all over again, then, learning another language is another life. But, if you learn other languages in your own town without leaving your country. It is not the same as starting another new live.
