cuánto (with written accent) means how much. I'ts only used with written accent in questions. Ex: ¿Cuánto es? -How much is it? or ¿Cuánto te debo? -How much do I ow you? cuanto (whit out written accent) is and adverb and has multiple meanings, like "cuanto antes" (as soon as possible); en cuanto a ( as for);cuanto quieras (as much as you like). The same happends with cuándo y cuando. ¿Cuándo? with written accent means When? ¿Cuándo vienes? ¿When are you comming? Cuando without written accent is and adverb.
