Sentence Help
Two sentences I made up:
1. The National Centre for the Performing Arts, better known as the National Grand Theatre, is located next to the Tiananmen Square.
2. The Diwang Building, lesser known to the tourists as the Shun Hing Square, used to be the tallest piece of architecture in Shenzhen.
My questions is:
1. if it is okay to say: "lesser known as" or just 'less known as'
2. I don't feel well about the sentences because there're too many 'THE's, making the readers feel redundant. But I'm not sure if it's ok to go without THE when it is used to define the name of a building, street, place etc. Especially when I've already capitalised the first letters to show it is definite, for example, 'Diwang Building', it is necessary to add 'the' in front it as well? I guess it's fine if it is a news report, but technically speaking I'm not sure.
Thank you!
I appreciate anyone's help. But, to those non-native speakers especially those who are not sure about the real answer: please do not give any irresponsible reply.
