What's the difference between the sentences: "I am here" and "I stay here"?

stay somewhere = 1. to live somewhere 2. not move Example: I'm going to Sydney tomorrow and I'll be staying at my 'place. I go to Sydney every week and I stay at my friend's place. You stay here (don't move). I'll be back in a minute.
