My memory is too weak to learn like juwita suggests. I'm not as smart as she is. I find that taking some words and using them in sentences is helpful. Then I use them in conversation, like on italki. I also read passages that contain words that are at my level and use them in reading and talking. After I've used the words a while, they become a part of me. As time goes on and I feel more comfortable, I add more words.

1st day, write 5 new vocabs then memorize it.........the next day, u write 5 new vocabs again....then memorize it together with your vocabs in the day before......so you'll get 10 vocabs in 2 days.........just do it continually.......every day you have to write 5 new vocabs then memorize it with your old vocabs..... wish it would be effective...:)

you can also try watching movies, English movies. while doing so,write all those words that aren't familiar to you. after the movie, try to look for their meanings in a dictionary. analyze, then try to write a sample sentence using the words. you may also look for a partner and have a dialogue with each other using some of the words you've written down. that'll help a lot.

I think reading books is the most effective way. It allows you to understand the meaning along with its correct usage and spelling.
