The difference between "notebook" and "laptop"?

no difference, both are 'portable computers. the secret is the precision of the western world. they love to give a name to every thing!

Quite frankly, nothing.
Laptop = general term for all portable computers.
Notebook = brand name for some company
Today, the two words are interchangeable.

yeap no difference , but i heard that some people are so stupid that they put the lap top on their lap and so it overheated ... so they changed the name because of that ... ha! i believe it
