I heard a story about how the election affects the environment in Korea. But it's not just election day! they are talking about the damage caused to the environment over the two weeks leading up to election day in Korea. Lots of trees are cut down not only for voting papers but also pamphlets or placards for running a campaign. They also hand lots of plastic gloves to voters for sanitation. In the states, some use digital things like TV campaign or something instead of using pamphlets or placards for letting people know them. I did some research about what the Environmental Impacts of Different Voting Methods are. There are a few ways to vote; one is paper ballot, another is electronic ballot and the last is online ballot. You may wonder if voting by electronic ballot is better for the environment than paper ballot options. After all, it’s not creating any waste, right? However, paperless voting requires the use of electricity. With these screens running all day long — for a 12-hour voting day — each vote alone would produce 0.024 kilowatt-hours of electricity and therefore, 0.03 pounds of carbon dioxide. Ultimately, it comes out to the same carbon footprint as voting via a paper ballot. Online voting reduces your CO2 emissions by up to 98 percent… The resulting report concluded that online voting is significantly better for the environment than voting via post.” However, before opting to cast your ballot online, you should be aware of the security concerns. According to CNET, “Additionally, cybersecurity experts say there's no technology today that can secure online voting. The bottom is that online voting is not the best option. So we need to come up with better ways to reduce demage caused to enviroment between paper ballot and electronic ballot. Could you please make my draft more sound natural? Thank you for you time and help.
