Boost means to increase something or make it better. To boost your finances may mean to make more money. To boost your energy may mean to drink a cup of coffee.
An example in context would be, “Give me a boost!” That means helping someone achieve a higher position by taking their foot from a crouching stance and “boosting” or propelling them upward vertically to achieve a higher height.

Boost = raise, increase, rise etc
For example, John drank a glass of milk which helped him to calm his nerves and boost his confidence for his English spelling test later.
