We have a small linguistic dispute with my friends; perhaps someone could help us to solve it being a native speaker, if he or she would not mind. We have found out that there are more than 3.5 millions exact matches in Google for an English expression "we would be much appreciated, if you"… We suppose that the mining of it is something like “we would be very grateful, if you…” that might be a kind of a polite request, but we believe it to be wrong in grammar. Could any one, please, clarify it for us, is it possible/correct to use this expression?

How do you think what may be a reason for such common incorrect use (I do think it is incorrect)?

Agreed that it is incorrect. (a) If you look at the first few links, you will see that the majority of them are from non-native countries. Several are Chinese company websites. It makes sense that this error is being generated by non-native speakers. (b) It is possible that it is a bad literal translation from an online translation program (c) It is also very likely that nowhere near all the 3.5M matches contain that phrase. Google tries to be clever (and ends up being stupid) by giving you approximate matches to your query.

It is incorrect. It should be "it would be much appreciated if you..." or "we would appreciate it very much if you...". You could also say "we would be very appreciative if you..." as well.

Just to add to the other answers, the phrase is incorrect in this example because it means someone would appreciate the writer: passive voice.
