Estar: this verb is use when you need to talk about actions you do/are doing and moods Ser: it's just use to describe something/someone. in that case you should use "estar" because you're talking about something you're doing, which is attend a school. I hope I' helped you!:)

"Ser" is used when you can ask How is something or someone or for descriptions eg. How is she? ¿Cómo es ella? Ella es morena. Ella es española. Ella es Ana. Es una buena idea. Es viernes. "Estar" is used when you can ask Where or you explain a situation or you talk about actions. eg. Where is your brother? ¿Dónde está tu hermano? Mi hermano está en Madrid. No voy a clase porque estoy enferma. ¿Dónde estás? Estoy en mi casa. More complicated is the use with adjetives or colours, eg. grey, gris. El cielo está gris The sky is grey (it is a temporary situation because only happen today) Mi coche es gris My car is grey (it is a usual situation because is the colour of my car) I hope this explanantion will be correct for you.
