Is this sentence grammatically correct? What does it mean?

Perhaps you mean, "Its box office take was incredible"? (not "taker")
Box office = ticket sales.
take = money gained. A box office take is the money gained from selling tickets (this doesn't include merchandise, for example).
This is good news for a new movie.
