What is the correct phrase?
Hello, dear English speakers!:) Can you help me with a simple question?
What is the correct phrase? "I started working after she called me." or "I started working after she had called me."?
Thank you in advance!

Both are correct, but native speakers would probably use the first
'I started working after she called me.'.
The sequence of events is obvious, so there is no need to use the past perfect.

Both are possible. I would prefer the first one though.

"I started working after she had called me" is correct because you are referring to two actions in the past that are chronologically dependent: 1-the work 2-the call but 2 happened and finished BEFORE 1.
