This is from my Mandarin textbook. I am wondering why they are using 一些 instead of 一点(儿) here. I thought that 一些 is only used for things you can count, like "一些书". Why do they use 一些 here? Do I have to use it in this sentence or is "现在好一点儿了" also fine?

I think both of them are fine! Like amen's mention, 一些 is more than 一點兒 when it comes to amounts of things.
