Can I say the sentence in this way?
Can I say "The storm shut down the airport."
Or should I say "The storm make the airport shut down. "

You can say the storm shut down the airport, sure.
You could also say the airport was shut down because of the storm.

You can say 'The storm shut down the airport'
To say 'the storm make the airport shut down' is not quite right as you are mixing the present 'the storm makes ...' with a past action. You could say 'the storm made the airport shut down.'
