The correct one is the first sentence, in terms of grammar. However, it doesn’t really sound natural, couple of better option are:
1. “There are five people in my family.”.
2. “I have five family members.”
3. “There are five members in my family.”
4. “I live in family of five.”
5. “I have a family of five.”
I hope it helps you Kevin, :)

Actually, it's more natural to say "There are five people in my family" or "There are five of us in my family"
If you use the structure "my family has five people" it sounds as though your family has possession of five people and this is a little strange.
You could use it with things. For example: "My family has a house in France," because the house is an object which can be owned.
