じゃないです vs ではありません whats the difference between these 2? when would I use one and when would i use the other?

「ではありません」is more formal than 「じゃないです」. For example, if you write an explanation for this product as a merchant, you may say 「これは食べ物ではありません」. 【好物キャンドル(故人の好物シリーズ)】
