The use of 被 puts it in the passive tense. However with "hit" + "fracture" its hard to make a passive sentence in English without knowing more information. If you don't need to use passive tense, follow Jura's active tense: Her husband hit her which caused a fracture. Another good way to say it, When her husband hit her, he caused a fracture. Normally we'd explain what was fractured (which bone? her skull?)
