I live in one of the most expensive areas of Italy, anyway 1 kg of the most common white bread here costs 6,44 USD in the bakery and 3,87 USD in the supermarket.

The US doesn't use kilos to measure bread, we say a "loaf" of bread.
It varies drastically in my country. I live in NYC where a loaf of bread can be about $4.50, but in middle America it can be as low as $1.50.

As far as I'm concerned, avarage loaf of bread costs at about 50 cents in Ukraine. It's approximately for 500 gr., then a kilo will cost at about a dollar.
