As a med student in Brazil, it is sometimes hard to come across opportunities to practice and maintain my English skills. Brazilian doctors’ careers still seem to be very restricted to the national market, and curriculum internationalisation is rather uncommon. This way, I am seeking language partners who are also medical students abroad, to exchange experience and linguistic knowledge. How can I answer when someone asks me if I got married even though I like to stay single? I'm quite old enough as all of my friends got married. When American asks me if I'm married, I just answer like 'Not yet' or 'No, I'm not serious about marriage.' or 'I won't get married.' Whenever I answered like that, the vibe became awkward.
