We start with hiragana, greetings, and self-introductions, building a strong foundation step by step. You will learn essential expressions used in daily life and begin communicating in Japanese using short, practical sentences.

Lesson approach:
Each lesson introduces new vocabulary and grammar in a clear and structured way, followed by guided practice and role-plays. Lessons are supportive and paced carefully so you can build confidence while making steady progress.

Outcome:
By the end of the course, you will be able to understand and use essential everyday expressions and communicate at a basic level with confidence.

Beginner Japanese (55 mins)

Package availability:
This package is available for students who take lessons at least twice a week.
It is designed for learners who are committed to regular study and steady, long-term progress.

Course level:
Pre-intermediate (based on Minna no Nihongo 2 or Genki 2). Learners with a solid basic foundation (around N5 level) are welcome.

Course focus:
You will learn how to ask for explanations, describe your situation and feelings, and share information more clearly in Japanese. You will also practise using formal and casual styles appropriately depending on the context.

Lesson approach:
Each lesson introduces new vocabulary and grammar, followed by structured speaking practice and role-plays to help you use what you learn actively and confidently.

Outcome:
By the end of the course, you will be able to go beyond basic conversation and express your opinions with clearer detail, including reasons, purposes, and personal experiences.

Pre-Intermediate Japanese (55 mins)

This course is designed for learners who want to improve speaking fluency through regular conversation practice in Japanese.

Recommended level:
Intermediate to advanced. If you are a beginner and would still like to join, please feel free to message me — I can confirm whether it is suitable for your current level and goals.

How lessons work:
Before each lesson, we choose a topic in advance to give our conversation a clear starting point. During the lesson, we expand naturally into related ideas, opinions, and everyday expressions. I provide guidance and corrections throughout to help you speak more accurately and naturally.

Possible topics:
-Japanese culture (anime, manga, oshikatsu / fandom culture)
-Food and travel in Japan
-News and current events
-Everyday life — or any topic you would like to discuss

After each lesson:
You will receive a PDF summary of key vocabulary, grammar, and expressions from the session for review.

Advanced (for learners who have completed an intermediate course or have equivalent skills, around JLPT N3 level).

You will strengthen higher-level grammar and vocabulary and improve your ability to communicate clearly in more complex, real-world situations.

Lesson approach:
Lessons combine targeted input (grammar and vocabulary) with guided speaking practice, discussion, and conversation to support more natural and confident expression.

Outcome:
By the end of the course, you will be able to express ideas more clearly and confidently in a wide range of situations. You will also build the skills to read and understand more complex texts, such as news articles and short stories, with greater ease.

Advanced Japanese (55 mins)

Intermediate (for learners who have completed a pre-intermediate course or have equivalent skills, around JLPT N4 level).

Course focus:
You will develop a stronger command of natural Japanese grammar and expressions and improve your ability to communicate more smoothly in everyday situations.

Lesson approach:
Lessons focus on building vocabulary and grammar first, then applying them through structured speaking practice and conversation.

Outcome:
By the end of the course, you will be able to handle most everyday situations in Japanese and speak more fluently and naturally about a wider range of daily topics.

Intermediate Japanese (55 mins)

This course is designed for travellers who want practical Japanese tailored to their itinerary. We’ll cover essential travel conversations, and I can customise practice based on your trip plans — where you’re going, what you’d like to do, and the situations you’re most likely to face.

Course topics (8 sections):
-Greetings, introductions, and asking about places
-Shopping
-Restaurants and cafés
-Asking for directions and using transport
-Hotel, airport, and basic money-related situations
-Helpful questions (polite requests, clarifying, confirming)
-Problems & emergencies (lost items, illness, cancellations, etc.)
-Review + personalised role-play

Lesson length / pace:
Depending on your pace, you can build a solid foundation in 5–8 lessons (55 minutes each).
