The biggest challenge of Crosstalk, compared to other language-learning activities, is finding native (or proficient) speakers to practice with. If you book this class, you won’t have to worry about that!
This is not an improvised conversation—each 50-minute session is carefully planned with specific topics to discuss. However, feel free to suggest your own topics! The experience is very different from a traditional language exchange, making it one of the most effective ways to immerse yourself in comprehensible input while improving your listening skills naturally.
How Does a Crosstalk Session Work?
I prepare a topic and a presentation with photos and examples, all in Spanish. I adjust my speed and vocabulary to your level so you can understand everything. Throughout the session, I ask you questions to check comprehension, and you can also ask me questions, share your opinions, and make comments.
If you are familiar with comprehensible input, you know that the goal is for the conversation to flow naturally. You can speak Spanish whenever you spontaneously remember words or phrases, but you are always welcome to speak in English. My English comprehension is advanced, so you don’t need to adjust your speed or vocabulary when speaking with me—I usually understand everything, though I might occasionally ask about a word I’m unfamiliar with.

Our first meeting will be a Crosstalk conversation to get to know each other. I will also explain how my individual and group sessions work, share available schedules, and go over pricing details.
