7月7日は「七夕（たなばた）」というお祭りの日です。 日本では七夕に、願いごとを書いた紙を笹（ささ）につるして、星に祈ります。いろいろな飾りもつけますから、ちょっとクリスマスツリーみたいですね。 あなたなら星に何を祈りますか？

 7月（しちがつ）7日（なのか）は「七夕（たなばた）」というお祭（まつ）りの日（ひ）です。 日本（にほん）では七夕（たなばた）に、願（ねが）いごとを書（か）いた紙（かみ）を笹（ささ）につるして、星（ほし）祈（いの）ります。 笹（ささ）の葉（は）にはいろいろな飾（かざ）りもつけますから、ちょっとクリスマスツリーみたいですね。 あなたなら星（ほし）に何（なに）を祈（いの）りますか？

【English】 
July 7th is the day of "Tanabata", the Star Festival. In Japan, on Tanabata, people hang strips of paper with their wishes written on them onto bamboo grass and pray to the stars. Since we also put various decorations on it, it looks a bit like a Christmas tree, doesn't it? What would you wish to the stars?

七夕（たなばた）：Tanabata / Star Festival
お祭り（おまつり）：Festival
願（ねが）いごと：wish (noun)
紙（かみ）：paper
笹（ささ）：bamboo grass
つるす：to hang
祈（いの）る：to pray, make a wish

That is a story like a movie, isn't it?
