My daughter went to a hotel in a coastal city to take part in an academic activity during this golden week. There were many other tourists stayed at that hotel as well. For the activity, my daughter and her schoolmates were required to wear school uniforms, which were black suits with a white blouse, a black blazer, and a black plaid skirt. The children looked pretty much formal and precocious with their uniforms. At the first day, when she was waiting for the elevator, a middle aged man came to ask her:āWhere is the restaurant for us to eat breakfast?ā
āSorry, I have no idea either.ā She answered.
āHow come you donāt know? You are the person in the hotel.ā The man said surprisingly.
ā I donāt work here. I am just a student.ā She explained and pointed to her school badge.
The man apologized and left. She thought this was a coincidence and would not happen again. Yet, the next day, a woman stopped her in the lobby and addressed her as a tour guide.
āHey, tour guide! Whatās your recommendation for restaurants?ā She inquired.
She replied that she didnāt know.
āAre you new as a tour guide?ā The woman sounded curiously.
āMaāam, I am not a tour guide. I am thirteen.ā She said and thought in mind:āDo I really look so old?ā
It turned out that her schoolmates encountered the same kind of thing at the hotel too.
