Community TutorThe hardest things about learning Spanish if you speak Polish
🇵🇱➡️🇪🇸
For many Polish learners, Spanish feels familiar at first… but some differences quickly appear. Here are a few of the main challenges:
1️⃣ Verb tenses vs aspect 🧠
Polish focuses on aspect, while Spanish uses multiple tenses:
hablé vs hablaba
2️⃣ Articles 📚
Polish doesn’t use them.
Spanish does: el libro, una casa
Getting used to them takes time.
3️⃣ Gender agreement ⚖️
Both languages have gender — but they don’t always match:
el problema, la mano
4️⃣ Pronunciation 🎧
Clear overall, but tricky details: the rolling ‘r’, rhythm, and natural flow.
💡 It’s not about difficulty; it’s about adapting to a new system 😌
