The hand gesture that we use in the U.S. to say “OK” means something very different in Brazil. It’s actually worse than the middle finger. Use the thumbs up gesture instead. And when I say the “OK” sign I should note that it is the “OK” sign backwards that is the really bad way.

Hi Jevon,
Actually, the hand sign we once innocently used to mean “okay” has taken on a very negative meaning in the US as well: it now means “white power” or “white nationalism”. Racists use it to signal to each other. So, combined with the sign’s negative meanings in countries like Brazil, the days of using this sign without problems are numbered.
