Although I learned some Korean traditional dances for years, it’s really hard to describe different forms of the dance. But I can try to summarise a few things that the dance has in common. One distinctive feature of it is the movement can be quite slow most of the time but for the climax of the dance, it can get really fast with frequent turning around (or a lot of spin?). The dancer shows its story with arm movement as he or she wears a fluffy tradition dress or clothes called Hanbok which doesn’t reveal the movement of legs easily. The dance imitates the movement of element of nature so there are many smooth arm movements like the movement of waving tree branches and grass by gentle wind.
