When I was a child, [1] I frequently [2] played parchís with my family, but my favorite [3] board game was chess. I used to play chess all the time.
[1] - A comma is customary when a modifying phrase comes before the main clause.
[2] - Adverbs of frequency usually go directly before the verb.

[3] - Adjectives usually go before the noun.
