Writing Exercise 307 – HOW DARE YOU? Today, I bought some food from the market where I usually go to. The market is not only known for supplying a variety of the freshest food, but it is also renowned for its managerial principles to supervise the shopkeepers who run businesses in the market to behave with integrity. However, not all of the traders have good faith. Here is a case concerning me. This morning, I selected half a chicken in front of one of the meat stalls and asked the owner for the price. After bargaining, we reached the deal. Then she weighed the food and I paid the amount as she claimed. After that, I took half of the chicken with me and left the stall. After finishing all the procurement, I as usual weighed all the things one by one with a weighing scale placed somewhere by the market administrators. Every single thing of the weight was according to what its owner claimed, apart from the chicken’s, which was 22% less than she claimed. I immediately went back to the stall and put the food on her scale, then asked her,” HOW DARE YOU?” She obviously realized what I meant and said sorry to me in timidity while reweighing the food. This time, her scale showed the same weight as the one in public did. You may ask,"Why?” That's because it is an open secret that some treacherous merchants play tricks with their scales, in which there is a secret button that the owner can stealthily control to weigh heavier than the stuff should be when they think the customers don't know the secret and they dare not to do it when they notice that the customers may be smart. Eventually, not only did I get back the money that I overpaid, but I also took a picture of the billboard hung on her stall. I will never buy food from her stall.

An interesting story. Your writing is great, generally I just tend to cut out unnecessary words. Think about whether you have said the same thing twice.

Writing Exercise 307 – HOW DARE YOU? Today, I bought some food from the market where I usually go. The market is not only known for supplying a wide (more natural) variety of the freshest foods, but it is also renowned for its managerial principles to supervise the shopkeepers who run businesses in the market and make sure they behave with integrity. However, not all of the traders act in good faith. Here is a case concerning me. This morning, I selected half a chicken in front of one of the meat stalls and asked the owner for the price. After bargaining, we reached a deal. Then she weighed the food and I paid the amount as she claimed. After that, I took half of the chicken with me and left the stall. As usual, after finishing the procurement of the goods, I weighed all the things/items one by one on a weighing scale placed somewhere by the market administrators. Every single weight went according to what its owner had claimed, apart from the chicken, which was 22% less than the shop owner had claimed. I immediately went back to the stall and put the food on her scale, then asked her,” HOW DARE YOU?” She obviously realized what I meant and said sorry to me timidly while reweighing the food. This time, her scale showed the same weight as the one in public did. You may ask, "How is this possible?” That's because it is an open secret that some dishonest (treacherous is too strong, a person who does a massacre is treacherous) merchants play tricks with their scales. There is a secret button that the owner can stealthily control to show a weight that is heavier than what the item should be. They think the customers don't know the secret and they dare not do it when they notice that the customer may be smart. Eventually, not only did I get back the money that I overpaid, but I also took a picture of the billboard hung on her stall. I will never again buy food from her stall.

Writing Exercise 307 – HOW DARE YOU? Today, I bought some food from the market I usually go to. The market is not only known for supplying a variety of the freshest food, but it is also renowned for its managerial principles, ensuring that the shopkeepers who run businesses in the market behave with integrity. However, not all of the traders act in good faith. Here is an experience I had. This morning, I selected half a chicken in front of one of the meat stalls and asked the owner for the price. After bargaining, we reached a deal. Then she weighed the food and I paid the amount as she requested. After that, I took half of the chicken with me and left the stall. After finishing all my shopping, I as usual weighed all the items one by one on a scale placed somewhere by the market administrators. Every single item matched the weight claimed by its vendor, apart from the chicken, which was 22% less than the vendor had claimed. I immediately went back to the stall and put the food on her scale, then asked her, ”HOW DARE YOU?” She obviously realized what I meant and timidly apologized while reweighing the food. This time, her scale showed the same weight as public one did. You may ask, "Why?” That's because it is an open secret that some treacherous merchants play tricks with their scales; there is a secret button that the owner can stealthily control to make things appear heavier than they are. They use this trick when they think the customer doesn't know the secret, and they dare not to do it when they think the customer may be smart. Eventually, not only did I get back the money that I overpaid, but I also took a picture of the billboard hung on her stall. I will never buy food from her stall.
Great story, as always!! I made some suggestions to help it flow more naturally. :)
