Distance learning has several benefits and drawbacks. In this essay I am going
to explain how remote learning can be both beneficial and disadvantageous for education. Looking at the positive side, online
learning is an awesome (this is not really an academic word) technique for learning. Pupils are able to join their
class with a few touches on their phone or computer keyboard. Remote learning
brings many advantages to a student’s life such as saving time and money, and being safer. When attending class is not mandatory, then students do not need to
travel several miles in order to have classes. Therefore, they save money and are
more secure. All they need is to have a connection to the internet.
On the other hand, some students may not get a
comprehensive education by studying remotely. A number of students do not like to attend online
classes because they can not concentrate. This can lead to failure. Another disadvantage is that because of using online classes, students often use the time saved in travelling to earn money by having a part-time job.
The consequence of earning money, even though it might help pay for school fees, is losing the passion for learning. In my opinion, face to face learning should be compulsory for basic classes but optional for more advanced learning.
