Question: Some people become famous at very young age. Do you think it is a positive or negative development?
Everyone is in the rat race of becoming famous, be it youngsters or adults. While becoming famous at a young age has very few pros, it is overall negative development.
Admittedly, getting famous at a young age brings name and fame with it. This makes children self-sufficient, meaning they are not dependent for money on anyone; for example, they can themselves pay their school fees. Besides this, they become confident from a very young age as they face media and people.
Nevertheless, despite the few advantages mentioned above, being famous from childhood has many disadvantages. Firstly, when children become famous, they have money, which means they become chief bread earners in the family. As a result, some pushy parents may exploit them and pressurize them to earn more, even at the cost of their school. Secondly, children get accustomed to the stardom, and they face withdrawal symptoms once the stardom is over. The studies have shown there are very few star kids who undergo their smooth transition to adult stars, whereas others face depression and anxiety.
Furthermore, famous children have a lonely childhood. Due to their stardom, they can't enjoy their childhood and can't make friends. The other children sometimes become jealous of the starkid's success and money. Finally, to overcome the depression and anxiety caused from loneliness, star kids get addicted to drugs.
To conclude, stardom at a young age has an overall negative impact on the physical and mental well-being of a star kid.
