I decided to try some exercises I found that said they could help me roll my "r". However, I quickly grew frustrated when I couldn't roll it after practice. It just didn't seem to work! I began asking friends who could speak Spanish, Italian or even the gifted ones who couldn't but could roll their "r" anyway. It wasn't even a challenge for them. They always could, they said. The closest I got was to a friend who said she practiced it for more than a year before finally succeeding.
