Do you agree or disagree with the following statement: Remote learning using techologies such as Zoom is just as effectice as in-person classroom learning.
Technologies is changing the way of learning, for example, Zoom has made remote learning feasible. However, as for the learning effects, I believe learning via Zoom is hardly never the same as in-person classroom learning. This results from that online learning doesnât convey as much information as traditional class, and that it sometimes might be very distracting for learners.
To begin with, a lot of critical information is missing in remote learning. Unlike in-class meeting, where teachers and students communicate with each other face to face, they mostly interact with the computer in remote learning. They are not physically sitting together but can only see little faces of others, so they canât easily catch othersâ facial expressions or body language, which are also vital for them to get their points across. Not to mention, sometimes some people turn off their cameras and mute themselves throughout the meeting, and they have no feedback or input to the class.
Furthermore, people may feel difficult to concentrate on their study when they are on the computer. The internet is full of interesting things competing with relatively the boring class, such as pop music, YouTube videos, funny pictures. Itâs very hard to resist the temptation of them, even they in the middle of online lessons, since no one would find out what webpage are they actually looking at. Whereas in the real classroom, everyone is more engaged in learning because they have less distractions, which results in better education effects.
In short, for me, though technologies enable people learn via zoom and the like, but the outcome is not as good as in-person classes. This is because people receive limited information and often get distracted when we learn on Zoom.

Technology is changing our way of learning. For example, Zoom has made remote learning feasible. However, in terms of learning effectiveness, I believe learning via Zoom is not comparable to in-person learning. Online learning doesnât convey as much information as traditional class and can be very distracting for students.
To begin with, a lot of critical information is missing in remote learning. Unlike in-class meetings, where teachers and students communicate with each other face to face, remote learning is mostly computer interactions. Whereas in a real classroom, everyone is more engaged in learning because they have less distractions, which results in more effective learning.
In my opinion, though technology has enabled people to learn via zoom and other similar platforms, the outcome of online learning is not as good as in-person classes. This is because people receive limited information and often get distracted when learning on Zoom.
