Hi! Is it correct to say "You won't see me around for some time"?
I'm trying to find an expression for saying that I will not be in the place where I live, so people won't see me. Maybe there are some other ways to express that? 🤔

Yes you can say that, but some people may think you're dying or having a big problem, so it's usually better to give a bit more information about why you'll be gone, even if it's only vague, for example "I'll be gone for a while - I have some business to take care of." BUT if you'll be leaving your home unattended, don't advertise this too loudly, as it may invite burglars!

Hi Anastasia,
Yes, "You won't see me around for some time," is perfectly correct! It effectively conveys the idea that the speaker will be absent from their usual location for a period of time.
Here are several other ways to express the same idea:
1. "I’ll be away for a while."
This phrase indicates that the speaker will not be present for an unspecified duration.
2. "I won’t be around for a bit."
A more casual way to say that one will be absent for a short time.
3. "I’ll be out of town for some time."
This suggests that the person will be away from their home or usual location.
4. "You won’t see me here for a while."
This is similar to the original sentence but emphasizes the current location.
5. "I’ll be missing in action for a while."
A slightly humorous or dramatic way to indicate absence.
6. "I’m taking some time off."
This implies a break, which can be from work or daily routines.
7. "I’ll be gone for a while."
A straightforward way to communicate absence.
