What's the difference between sports shows and game shows? I thought they were the same.

Sports shows (actually, if sports is on tv, it.s not usually called a show, just 'sports') = football, tennis, baseball, basketball,, etc.
Game shows are created by TV studios, and generally involve people trying to do things, usually for money : Jeopary, Who wants to be a millionaire, who's still standing, Superbrain, The price is right, etc.
