Community TutorDo you think WhatsApp is a big waste of time?
I've just uploaded a video giving 12 reasons NOT to use WhatsApp:
https://youtu.be/j1TZ4OS4zz0
(The video is in Simple Spanish with Spanish/English subs)
And no, it has nothing to do with it being a part of Facebook, or anything like that. My reasons are:
1 Groups are a mess
2 It's hard to find useful information among all the noise
3 Status updates are a waste of time, and even dangerous
4 People call you all the time and do not cut to the chase
5 Fake news are everywhere
6 Conversations do not have a clear starting point or ending point
7 Some people split a sentence into several messages
8 Anyone has you on WhatsApp, even if they're not your friend
9 You need to give out your cell phone number in order to text someone via WhatsApp, and that's dangerous
10 It mixes up work and personal life. Your boss now expects you to reply during the weekend.
11 You lose your focus with every new pointless message or call
12 It's a drug, and most of Latin America is hooked. Try to quit it and you'll face an angry mob of addicts.
What do you think about WhatsApp?

I'm too lazy to watch the linked video, but yes — I generally agree with all your points — WhatsApp is a waste of time. I don't like that most people send a million short phrases on WhatsApp instead of sending a few messages containing two or three sentences. I don't like handing out my phone number like candy, though it's kind of expected when you go to parties. I also never join groups anymore because they're too cluttered. There's no system to organize threads (replying to messages doesn't count because you still need to scroll past information that isn't relevant to you).
